Liberation insists on what could yet be, breaking down what is. And we must never stop insisting... From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.
Not convinced by the British iteration of the Chinese century, can't lie.
Truly can’t make this stuff up. What utter nonsense.

Someone, somewhere in the University of Kent’s research office, is trying to work out whether they can put together a REF impact case study out of Matt Godwin.

There's a through line from Labour/Steve Reed saying 'build baby build' and effectively trying to deregulate construction sector to the attack on human rights law.

A fascistic embrace of efficency that rejects regulation, considerations about social benefit and rejects thoughtful consideration
Suella Braverman, "There is a very strong case to increase the powers of any immigration enforcement officers that we deploy"

"At the moment they're hamstrung by human rights laws, by health and safety laws, by all sorts of needless and obstructive bureaucracy"

Would be quite funny if the only people who were effectively de-skilled in terms of labour by AI were the AI booster ghouls themselves
A sentence from hell:
“people in SF are putting multi-agent claudeswarms in charge of their lives, consulting chatbots before every decision, wireheading to a degree only sci-fi writers dared to imagine.”

Israeli forces are massacring Palestinian journalists - committing war crimes on a scale that would normally make headline news - and yet Western media are still calling this a "ceasefire". Pure propaganda.

There’s a reason why Carney’s speech made numerous mentions of ‘great powers’ and ‘intermediate/middle powers’ but not a single mention of the implied third category.
Well fuck when you put it that way.

I see that people forgot already that Carney supported the attack on Venezuela. Short-term memory reaching new levels of shortness each day.

“Stop invoking the ‘rules-based international order’ as though it still functions as advertised.”

Oh, honey.

“Call the system what it is: a period where the most powerful pursue their interests using economic integration as a weapon of coercion.”

Oh, HONEY.
In a speech to the World Economic Forum, Mark Carney says middle powers such as Canada must accept that the rules-based international order is effectively dead, and great power rivalry with is here to stay. Key excerpt:

I stopped writing about cybernetics, surveillance, recognition, and control society after the last two books and 4 articles because at this point Labour teaming up with Palantir via Oswald Mosley's grandson to build a panopticon says enough. The only rational thing to do with such toys is break them

There are no rules, they don’t actually care about respect, decorum, bipartisanship or debate, and only pretend to do so to browbeat you into submission. Nothing is going to change until more people realise that and respond accordingly; including to the media and politicians who have failed them.

Seen that the Indendent Schools Council has a fluff piece in The Times about steps like this being needed to stop 'brain drain' as private school children go to the USA.

Elite education working in lockstep to preserve privilege as other instutions deskill through embracing AI.

Class war as ever
a slap in the face for state school students

a slap in the face for all who believe in Oxbridge admissions according to merit rather than class privilege

and a reminder of how easily hard-won progress can be undone by a few activists on a college governing body

There's a kind of leftwing common sense vulgar geopolitics which says the US just invades wherever has oil. We need to pay attention to political economy and history. That the Bolivarian Revolution nationalised the oil is crucial here. Smash & grab extractivism is often anti-communist foreign policy
Feels very likely that the ‘US oil companies claim Venezuela owes them billions in compensation for expropriation’ is a much more relevant detail than ‘Venezuela sits on massive oil reserves’.

As with Palestine, the western press quite clearly values some lives more than others. Beyond repugnant.

This is a fantastic listen in the context of America's imperialist aggression against Venezuela. It also puts paid to claims that America is tacitly accepting 'spheres of influence' for Russia and China. The Trump-roe doctrine is the development of the coming decade's global foreign policy.

The lives of Venezuelans must be sacrificed to the Yankee bomb for the glorious return of the oil reserves to private ownership. it's not a dead cat, it's not a distraction. this is the bare and revealed truth of American capitalism. Complete and total disregard for life and decency for profit

The Imperialists will not stop until they're stopped. There is no norm or law which can tame total impunity. Impunity has no conscience. It has no need of one. The only way to stop them is ultimately for the apparatuses of impunity to be broken and their commanders' power nullified.

It’s important to understand the transition economy is both a tendency within capitalism and a class fraction.

The listed green economy has an annual revenue pool of US$5 trillion in 2023.
