Ah this is sad news :(
Sad to read about Ebo Taylor's passing. A contemporary of Fela, their time in London overlapped, who became one of Ghana's most influential musicians. His guitar playing is a treat, a foundation of modern high life. Today's choice is joyous, go well, Ebo.

What a find - this plus coffee has sorted me right out
Ist Ist provide a slice of fuzz laced, modern rock that wears its influences well. If you don't get a feeling of Incubation by Joy Division from this, you might need your ears testing. A fantastic tune that'll kick start your Tuesday:

If I’m being honest what I want from the Greens is for a decent version of Labour to adopt their best environmental policies. We don’t have time for the learning curve, we’ve been gifted a short window of non Tory let’s not piss about
I have today been informed that, despite personal assurances to the contrary, the Green party have once again used my image and misrepresented my words on a second leaflet circulated in Gorton and Denton ahead of the by-election. I have now lodged an official complaint with the returning officer.

MERRY BANDCAMP FRIDAY, TOUS LES MONDES! With thanks to @joemuggs.bsky.social for the tip off: a new compilation celebrating the work, and influences, of Talking Heads is well worth picking up today. Here's a cracking, lighter, rework of Born Under Punches x

Been really loving this today
Electro pop from 2009, when the world was far less of a constantly burning bin fire. Au Revoir Simone bringing a synth sound reminiscent of Stereolab and Ultravox to your Thursday. Don't look outside, it's probably fucking raining again. x

Man said "precipitous plunge into Morrissey-ish reactionary contrarianism" 😭

Don't let that spoil enjoyment of a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ album though.

This is hilarious 🤦‍♂️
The #Reform Party has less than 10 MPs, yet cannot co-ordinate how they should vote on a policy in Parliament. Can you trust a party who can't even manage or organise just a handful of people? Mind you, #ToryFailures Robert Jenrick and Suella Braverman aren't smart cookies, are they?

In a rare turn of events, today's choice is a tune boasting the legendary Tony Allen but it's NOT his drumming that's the star. Listen to that bass line. LISTEN! Taken from a 're-edit' album from 2017, this is awesome stuff.

Since being picked up by the legendary Ray Keith over 20 years ago Bladerunner aka Devan Gray has done a sterling job of putting new modern production vibes on old school jungle / DnB feeling records. ‘Musical Murda’ is absolutely bangerlicious (sorry…)! 💥 tidal.com/track/480675...

Listening to the Today programme for the first time in a while today. Justin Webb & Emma Barnett both quite unlikeable in their approach which isn’t encouraging me to return as a listener. Where’s Brian Redhead when you need him?
