On what grounds? Venezuela has not attacked the U.S,nor did it even retaliate against attack for take Maduro,"your motive". According to official reports,ONU and experts, accusations of terrorism and trafficking aren't real. There is not valid cause or authorization. Is it for oil? You can buy.

This is:They believe that any action is acceptable against Latin American or Third World countries, but it would not be acceptable against a European country or its territories. A clear example of double standards.

Free idea for @katherinemiller.bsky.social, NYT Opinion, or whatever: Do one of these panels, but with a guest expert on the topics these people are discussing. See how they react to learning that they have no idea what they're talking about. Could be great content!

As your constituent, I ask you to please clarify that you meant to say "I absolutely will not support ANY military conflict, whether in Venezuela, Iran, Greenland, Columbia, Cuba, or Mexico."

And, do not vote to fund ICE at any level, even if it means shutting down the government again.

Thank you.

We noticed how you're prevaricating by saying "large-scale" instead of saying the right thing meaning ANY military conflict, regardless of size, large or small.

U.S. Senate passes Venezuela war powers resolution 52-47, backing limits to block Trump from further Venezuela military action without congressional authorization.

Ok, they’ll brand it “national security operation” then.

The surprise invasion of Venezuela isn't imperial expansion driven by the dictates of capitalism; it is somehow even sicker. The Trump administration is behaving like gambling addicts chasing clout in an attention economy. Venezuela is a fucking meme stock. www.theverge.com/policy/85807...

I just left the Venezuela briefing.

It's worse than you thought.

Oil company executives seem to know more about Trump's secret plan to "run" Venezuela than the American people.

We need public Senate hearings NOW.

CROW: That's actually not true. The majority of the deaths by drugs in America are the result of meth and fentanyl. Almost none of that comes from Venezuela

A reminder that the US killed 80 people in Venezuela, and it would be nice if the US media cared enough to think that the life of a grandmother in Caracas whose building is destroyed by a US bomb matters as much as the life of a person in the US.

But they're certain other countries' laws don't apply to them.

The media need to stop beating their chests about how powerful our military is.
It's a point of pride when your country has a strong military that keeps the peace.
It's a source of shame when politicians turn your strong military into an international armed robbery gang.

Trump’s declaration that US oil companies are going to take over Venezuelan oil production reveals the true motive for this attack: seizure of the largest oil reserves in the world. Trump apologists can spin all they want - but this is clearly illegal, hypocritical and dangerous.

The US attack on Venezuela is neither an act of self defence nor does it have UN Security Council authorization. It is therefore totally illegal and a breach of the UN covenants the US has agreed to uphold as a Member State.
