It is always a profound privilege to attend Remembrance Day ceremonies in Vancouver.
Today I did so at Memorial Park, the Chinese Cenotaph and with peace activists near Seaforth Armoury.
The very best way we can honour the fallen is to create a world of peace.
Lest we forget.

Remembrance Day serves as a reminder to all Canadians to join together and honour the brave men and women who sacrifice so much to protect our country. Their courage and commitment will never be forgotten.

Great to be in Manitoba at the NDP convention.

Premier Kinew and his team are showing what progressive government looks like.

Grateful to hear the needs of Manitobans and their views on the federal budget.

I'd like a budget that satisfies Canadians, not one that satisfies Donald Trump.

Canadians are struggling to make ends meet — yet this budget offers no real relief. Families can’t wait for promises. They need help now. #cdnpoli #Budget2025

Don and the NDP once again secure funding for a Filipino Community and Cultural Centre in Vancouver.

The Carney Liberals want to remove the Empty Homes Tax - a measure aimed at investors to encourage them to put their units into the housing supply.
During a housing crisis, people need more homes, not a gift to investors to keep them empty.

Congratulations to Kate White and the entire Yukon NDP team on forming the Official Opposition!

Your federal team looks forward to working together to make the North and Canada work better for working people!

Their chaotic approach has already wreaked havoc in post-secondary institutions, leading to layoffs & confusion. Canadians deserve a fair, transparent & accountable immigration policy—not more excuses from a government out of touch with immigrant realities.

Federal officials are not sure when immigration levels plan is coming
While Prime Minister Mark Carney has said Canada’s “new immigration plan” will be in the federal budget next week, immigration department officials don’t know if that includes the annual levels plan o...

Universal healthcare is nation-building. Budget 2025 should invest in head-to-toe care—because every Canadian deserves it, not just those who can afford it. #cdnpoli #Budget2025

Municipalities build the communities Canadians call home. I spoke this morning to the @fcm.ca about renewing Canada’s nation-building vision—partnering with local leaders on housing, infrastructure, and climate resilience. #CDNmuni #cdnpoli

Canadians are facing a severe affordability crisis. Families are struggling to cover basic expenses, relying on high-interest credit just to get by, while food bank use has surged. In a country as wealthy as ours, no one should be forced into debt just to put food on the table.

Congrats to BCGEU and the BC Government on reaching a collective agreement.
While negotiations and job action can be hard, the best deals are reached by the parties with free & full collective bargaining rights respected.
The Carney govt. (& Cons) should pay attention to how it’s done.

New Democrats are deeply concerned after hearing Mark Carney’s pre-budget speech. He’s telling working Canadians to make “sacrifices” while handing out billions to the wealthiest 0.13% and the biggest, most profitable corporations.

Trump’s abrupt ending of trade talks because of an (accurate) Canadian ad proves again he cannot be appeased.
It’s time for a strong stance and to invest heavily in our own economy.
No more unilateral concessions!

Canada has a serious jobs crisis.
This must be addressed by a strong national industrial policy, investments in key sectors + innovative programs, esp. that put young people to work.
Austerity that throws people out of work & cuts to services folks need will make things worse.

Canadians are struggling with the sky-high cost of daily essentials—and the situation is getting worse. The latest inflation data shows grocery prices up 4%, rent up 4.8% nationally and 9.6% in Quebec. The upcoming federal budget must deliver real solutions to Canada's cost-of-living crisis.
