Join DSA SF and @jackiefielder.bsky.social at city hall Monday at 12 to rally for a Muni measure that grows service while protecting tenants!
The MuniForever proposal:
- expands service by 10%
- prohibits tax pass-throughs to rent-controlled tenants
- shifts tax burden onto corporations and mansions

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

Candidate Lurie offered vague promises to "do things differently" and "fix the city."

Mayor Lurie, on the other hand, boldly asks, "what if we just keep doing the exact same shit"

Such cowardice from @nytimes.com on this. After Musk's Nazi salutes headline was "Elon Musk Ignites Online Speculation Over the Meaning of a Hand Gesture." Now, NYT social leads with "The straight-arm salute has meant very different things in different places and during different periods of history"
The straight-arm salute has meant very different things in different places and during different periods of history. But in Germany, the interpretation of the gesture Elon Musk made during President Trump’s inauguration event this week was straightforward. nyti.ms/4h6c5iE

With a new mayor, San Francisco can finally honor the will of voters (Prop I and Prop K) and our unanimous Board of Supervisors resolution and build 10,000 units of municipal housing, as we also push for federal and state affordable housing investments
Report: ‘Social housing’ just might work in SF
It wouldn’t be easy, but evaluation lays out funding path.

On my final day in office, feeling tremendously proud of the work our team did over the last five years. As we continue working together to build a brighter future, check out our Retrospective to learn about the many ways we delivered for San Francisco’s working class.

We have just gotten started.

When I first supported @deanpreston.bsky.social in 2020, I was still a Yimby and skeptical of his positions on development, but saw he was the only elected vocally defending the rights and dignity of people experiencing homelessness. That was irreplaceable. Developers, I figured, have other allies.

We should tax the ultra-wealthy and make sure every American has healthcare, housing, childcare, a living wage, and the ability to go to college without going into a penny of debt.

The alternative is the rich keep getting richer while working class Americans suffer.

Billionaires who buy Democratic politicians are oligarchs.

Billionaires who buy Republican politicians are oligarchs.

They want working class people of both parties to argue which side is worse because it allows them to continue the practice.

They’re playing us.

$108 million in one year for the San Francisco Police Department's overtime. A new audit confirms widespread abuse and little oversight. This is costing taxpayers a fortune without making us safer.

We are 10 years into the failed YIMBY project, and it’s clear that the for profit real estate industry is not coming to the rescue to deliver housing for the working class.

Disaster capitalism won’t deliver the housing we need. Social housing will.
