This is right on @gilduran.com ALSO I believe that Benioff opening his big fat mouth was really about deflecting attention from the "Scattered LAPSUS$ Hunters" data breach while Dreamforce was going on. To me this stunt was all about protecting his interests techcrunch.com/2025/10/03/h...

Regardless of how this happened, I think of this outcome as indicative of an opening for the progressives. Let's not forget the insane amount of money that was poured into the campaign to save Joel's ass and how that basically did nothing.

There's that phrase again, "common sense solutions". To me, it's common sense that working class people can afford to live in San Francisco. I wouldn't call that extreme. Either would the majority of SF voters who passed things like the transfer tax (prop I) and the residential vacancy tax (prop M).

This you? speakerhub.com/speaker/dion...

You mad because Dean taxed one of your greedy clients and their "contextual Innovation"? LOL too bad. Expect more of it Dion, people are waking up. ;-)

can someone tell me again why high-speed chases are allowed in the City? Doesn't SFPD have radio technology?

Maybe not, but we will eat the rich

Dean oversaw the addition of over 2000 units in his district. I’ll own that

The tenant protections were not modest. He passed first in nation laws. SF has rent relief programs that are more aggressive than any other city in the country. Also he raised millions for social housing by passing a ballot measure that taxes the rich. So please lay off the “BUT STEVENSEN” thing

lol “communist housing block”.

We just built one of those in the Upper Haight and now everyone’s freedom to be homeless is in jeopardy!!1

Oh no! RED SCARE TACTICS! What is this 1968?

Dean is targeted by YIMBROs like you because of his successes in tenant rights, affordable housing, and taxing the rich to pay for it all.

There are lots of actual NIMBYs out there (who often call themselves YIMBYs) fighting against affordable housing

I understand, I’m just not interested in jargon. Speak plainly like lay person in public forums and I bet you’ll get better engagement with people. We’re not in a university libertarian economics club, we’re in public. Anyway, have a good day!

I’ve spent many years in my life as a merchant. I know what I need to know about “the study of economics”. I’m sure there are others that are interested in pseudoscience jargon— I encourage you to find that audience. Good luck!

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to spout at me about how I don’t understand and post all these charts. I’m sure others will read our conversation and think what a wise and patient Econ educator you are. Our chat has inspired me to go outside and re-read combat liberalism
