Seems like getting safety improvements is a big hurdle but having them removed? Easy
A block in Fishtown didn’t qualify for a speed bump so neighbors tried installing their own
Parents were concerned about traffic on a block that has 20 children under age 18.

I've seen a lot of chatter about how important it is to run for election workers/committee people in Philly, but I am begging everyone to get involved in your RCO too. RCOs have a surprising amount of power and a lot of influence with local officials and sometimes they aren't making good decisions!

He’s trying to make everyone — press & otherwise — think twice before criticizing him, for fear of a lawsuit or criminal prosecution, however frivolous.

This gets more dangerous by the hour.
Trump at the DOJ: "I believe that CNN and MSNDC, who literally write 97.6% bad about me, are political arms of the Democrat Party. And in my opinion, they are really corrupt and they are illegal. What they do is illegal."

This isn't going to get the attention of Columbia, but it's at least as bad: the University of Maine is having its funding cut off because the governor of Maine dared to challenge Trump.
I'm appalled by the USDA's decision to pause funding to the University of Maine System.

This will hurt our farmers, halt critical research, and impact students throughout Maine.

Once again, our state is being targeted for retribution—all because our officials are standing up for the rule of law.

Jay Young wants the city to be less safe, full stop.
Philadelphia City Council held up a bill allowing for speed cameras near schools today, basically out of the blue. The Councilmember who drove the action rattled off a bunch of mistruths and nonsense before doing so. Not a great way to start the week.

One of the most revelatory things about visiting Tokyo was the lack of noise. Why? No one honks!
Interesting data point on congestion pricing: "Honking-mad motorists are laying off the horn in the core of Manhattan since the January launch of congestion pricing, data reveals — with New Yorkers’ beefs about blaring horns plummeting nearly 70% from the same time last year."
Honking Complaints Plunge 69% Inside Congestion Pricing Zone
In the first two months of the Manhattan vehicle tolls that Trump wants to nix, gripes over blasting horns sunk when compared to 2024.

One thing about Andrew Cuomo running for mayor is that he's not even bothering to present a rationale about why it makes sense for him to be mayor besides "this is the open political position that would help me, Andrew Cuomo, regain power the easiest"

Much needed changes coming to 22nd Street (and 23rd AND 13th Streets too)!
It’s a big change from when the City Council member suggested removing a bike lane that drew ire from neighbors along Market Street just west of City Hall in April 2024.

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

New Attorney General policy: DOJ is there to advance the President's views, and we're not going to let DOJ lawyers refuse to sign their names to briefs that make nutty Trump arguments.
