Every now and then I go back and read the Citizens United ruling to see if it is as unhinged as I thought, and every time I do that I see it is actually far more deranged than I remembered.

I find it deeply disconcerting the way they keep “teasing” the big info they have on autism.

If there was a real scientific breakthrough, they wouldn’t wait.

This isn’t about science, it’s about discriminating against neurodivergent people.

It’s eugenics.
Trump: "I think we're gonna have something very very big coming up soon on autism. Autism is totally out of control ... we're gonna have a news conference early next week on autism."

The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city.

This is not a joke. This is not normal.

Donald Trump isn't a strongman, he's a scared man. Illinois won’t be intimidated by a wannabe dictator.

Fun project for the City of Bothell with one of my favorite collaborators @bmaryman.bsky.social. Replaced pandemic-era eco blocks and road closed signs with these removable bollards. Also fixed up some broken and heaving sidewalk sections to improve accessibility downtown.

What this article neglects to say is that Redmond is rolling out *FLOCK* license plate readers. 404 Media reported that ICE has been tapping into the Flock data network. Unclear from this reporting if the City of Redmond has instituted additional data privacy protocols given this information.

This 🧵 is well-worth reading, especially if you're feeling overwhelmed, defeated, or scared, as I am right now.

Yes, things are terrible. But also they have been equally or more terrible often in this country, and we have something now that we usually have not: widespread opposition.
I know we don't feel like there's much to celebrate this July 4th. It's been a rough several years.

So I want to talk about how we're making history right now.
