sometimes i will take an edible to be able to stay asleep (like I did about 30 minutes ago) and then will forget that I’m not just sleepy, I’m a little bit high. I fell asleep too early and can’t resettle despite the good sleeping weather. Cat has the zoomies. Have to be up in five hours.

Goodnight, friends. If you can spare a moment, please share this. It would be such an incredible relief to have rent and utilities covered.
$1473 left now! We can get there a dollar at a time if we need to y'all, all it takes is enough people with a few bucks to spare seeing the need and meeting it 💜

I was just laid off for the second time this year. It's going to be a hard fall and winter. My safety net, as is the case for too many of us especially these days, is the kindness and generosity of friends and strangers. Anything helps.

I enjoy Christmas stuff, even though it has no religious significance to me. Today when I finally made it to the mall to pick up my winter-inspired home fragrances, the Mariah Carey song came on in the store and it was full of people happily sniffing & chatting. It was such a sweet moment for me.

my car battery is dead again. I was just going to go pick my B&BW order up from the mall. Now I’m waiting on AAA (yay for membership!) to get here (second time in three months!) and instead of going to the mall, I will have to drive around for an hour to charge the damn thing.

A thing I still am not used to as a person living alone, with just a cat, is that no one is going to open the door. I feel lonely sometimes, missing my partner back in Alabama, but mostly I’m amazed that there’s no one to question me, to interrupt my train of thought, to demand anything from me.

what if I quit the academy, quit writing, quit theatre, just went back to being normal and worked in a coffee shop or office and stayed low stakes for the second half of my life (assuming I live to 100)

Attached are screenshots of the groceries I have in my cart waiting for help to send them to my sister and niece so they can eat this week while waiting to see if Indiana funds any SNAP. PayPal.me/Starbroken $50 covers all this food and delivery fee/tip

the person delivering my grocery order is lost in my apartment complex and we don't speak the same language and my Spanish is mostly only good when I'm translating a document, not trying to give someone directions while they're driving. I'm sure she is frustrated; I know I am.

I have to write a ten-page explication of a poem for my form & theory class in my MFA program. I’m at a loss. Poets, if you had to write a ten-page explication of a poem, which would you choose and why?
November 8, 2025 at 6:46 PM
for the record, i wrote two poems today. dont ask me if they’re good — that’s a next week question.

Now I can do homework, laundry, maybe watch the new FRANKENSTEIN.

I do believe ALL HER FAULT on Peacock is the best television I have ever seen. Ableism (physics and mental), synesthesia, men’s weaponized incompetence, food allergies, embezzlement, every level of betrayal one can imagine, bitchy PTA moms, and strong female friendships. Every performance is 👩‍🍳💋
