Its only a matter of time before I have to give up on sky international cricket coverage: commentators hyperventilating constantly, awful triumphal music and that ruddy dog. Especially the ruddy dog. Aaarrrgghhh.

I do think it's weird that the Sunday shows are still talking about the people on the Tommy Robinson march yesterday as if they're regular, concerned people who might have been infiltrated by a few extremists and not, as we can all see tanked up racists following Tommy Robinson!

Everyone saying PM shd condemn far right violence in London yday (Shabana Mahmood already has)/ leave X is right. But same for Kemi Badenoch. No Conservative Party can condone thugs attacking police horses & calls for violent uprising. Even Farage has gone up against Yaxley-Lennon ffs.

That feeling of desperately wanting your elected government to loudly call out racism & far right violent extremists...

And nothing.

Labour so afraid to lose power, it has forgotten both how to use it & that with power comes responsibility.

As America gets ever darker, too little light here.

It says a lot about how degenerate Labour hss become that no one sees the problem in attacking the most diverse part of the country and concocting a conspiracy theory that it benefits from special treatment!
Anti-#London populism isn't confined to Tories & (Far)age Right. A different version, the Northern grievance variety, is a stock Andy Burnham tactic. He desisted after the GE, but has lately revived it and is now deploying it against Reform UK, perhaps to boost his #Labour leadership ambitions. 🧵

A Labour government that does not fight back against the far right, racism and extremism fundamentally misunderstands the nature of its electoral support.

I left Labour over antisemitism and I will leave Labour again if we have a *Labour PM* who can't even stand up to a group of knuckle dragging racists on our streets and a drug addled tech bro. I genuinely do not understand what they are playing at.

Given the context and the crowd, despite Musk’s weasel words, this was a call for violence against the British state, from a foreign national who controls a major propaganda engine, and has engineered it to monetise hate

When Ted Heath sacked Enoch Powell he was acting in the face of a majority in favour. Harold Wilson backed him up and called the speech “evil”. Long past time for Keir and Kemi to do the same.

Expect more silence from the Royal Society in the face of their most notorious fellow advocating for the overthrow of the democratically elected government of a country he is neither a citizen nor a resident of (yet he is a fellow of their most prestigious learned society).

Labour wants to speak for "ordinary working people". It wants to be the party of patriotism & "national renewal". It badly needs a purpose & a moral mission.

Well here it is.

It is way past time to "speak for Britain" against billionaire-backed movements that want to terrorise ordinary Britons.

Dr Ally Louks was right to defend her thesis but the opaque language of academia is symptomatic of a moribund society
