Heard that Seattle is kicking $35k/*wk* from now til the end of the year (or whenever Repubs quit whining and end the shutdown) to their local food bank.
Ohio isn't doing something like that, so I made a donation to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank:

Debbie Brockman of WGN in Chicago has hired an attorney and plans to fight back against her unlawful arrest and detention by ICE.

Freedom of the press is under attack.

Tackling and arresting journalists is another step towards state run media.

Bring on the lawsuits.

Spread this around. Missouri and Ohio Democrats need at least 100,000 valid signatures to take on Republican gerrymandering maps. This is the fight 🔥
MO & OH Dems need us to help Rally support!

A commissioned poll shows nearly 1/2 of MO voters oppose the maps

The Dem committee needs over 100,000 valid signatures across multiple congressional districts before the state’s 90-day window expires on Dec. 11 to let voters decide on the maps.
Missouri Democrats have an opportunity to block a new congressional map. They say they’re largely on their own.
Despite relatively little investment from Washington, Missouri and Ohio Democrats are looking to block new Republican-drawn maps through uncertain avenues.

Two hundred and forty-nine years later, many of the grievances levied against King George III apply to the reign of Donald Trump.

Here’s a look at how Trump stacks up against the Mad King.
Here are the Declaration of Independence’s grievances against King George III. Many apply to Trump.

We plant trees for the same reason we build light rail.
I've heard 2 people in the last 18 hours (one at a public meeting, one on here) say or imply that planting trees is pointless because they take a long time to grow. This is baffling to me—how do people think mature trees come to exist? Future generations matter too, not just present-day homeowners.

That means she had a leading role in shepherding the many landmark reforms that Dems adopted in that period—an important legacy. Brief 🧵.
