This is Labour's core problem here. The right will never allow Starmer a win on immigration because the issue is central to their appeal and therey' daren't lose it. So whatever he does will never be enough.

This isn't a step in the right direction! This is a significant step back from an exercise of power that is routine in the Senate (the filibuster)! There's no actual power being exercised here beyond pure theater.
Listen. I believe ardently in criticizing our leaders for their failures and inaction but if you refuse to acknowledge their efforts when they do make them and if you refuse to recognize a step in the right direction, you don’t really want change. You just want to complain.

My biggest problem with Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings is that when they sail to the Undying Lands at the end they go on a normal ship, whereas Tolkien was clear that it was a spaceship. Their flesh could not survive without space protection.
