We have a 6-3 court that cancelled student loan forgiveness because too many people did not see a difference between the two parties. But by all means bring that energy into 2024.
It is better to help some people than to help none at all but we have $1.77 trillion in federal and private student debt. Too bad for those of us who don't "understand how government works" that are still fucked though. Maybe the anger has something to do with shit eating messaging like this.
Despite the Supreme Court ruling, Biden has discharged $127 billion for 3.6 million borrowers. This is the difference between a President understanding how government works and one who doesn’t. https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/22/politics/biden-student-loan-forgiveness-supreme-court/index.html

One unexpected thing in my qualitative study w natural scientists (one-hour interviews) is how deeply, deeply sad the climate scientists are. They say things like "you have enough information from us, why won't anyone act?" -- the psychological distress these people are enduring is very great.

If the situation was reversed, I suspect we’d be reading analysis pieces calling for the Democrats to embrace a bipartisan governing coalition as well as examinations of how such extremism and organizational dysfunction are affecting their 2024 election chances.

Sources on the hill are telling me that if Jim Jordan fails to become speaker for the third time tomorrow, momentum is building behind an animatronic Trump or Reagan hologram. But it's unclear whether either can get to the necessary 217 votes.

Free school lunches are cheaper than the consequences of children being hungry

Free medical care is cheaper than the costs of people being sick

Universal Basic Income increases productivity and makes people happy
So weird how as soon as the pandemic started it became very immediately clear that things like socialized medicine and giving people money so children don’t starve actually work really well but now that it’s been a couple years we have to all pretend we didn’t notice that
