Ruining history for people since 2001.
This here’s a jam for all the faithful
Trying to do what those prophets tell us
Get shot down cuz ur over zealous
Trying to do what the Torah tells us
You know what to do yeah
Bust a move
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes the sun,
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood

Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good.

Every time I see a quote by Martin Buber I think of the Jewish chaplain at my university who I played with on Religion Dept softball team who said reason he was able to play shortstop at age 60 was "I have an I-thou relationship with the ball." Here's a photo of that team.

When it’s not enough to sleep on The Hooman’s pillows but you also need to rearrange them to support your chin and your butt. (And yes I am a growed ass person who has Star Wars sheets.)

I asked the neighbors if we get Trick or Treaters in this neighborhood and they said not many so I said "Do you end up with a lot of leftover candy?" and the guy says very seriously, "That depends on how much candy you start with, don't it."

About to watch a horror classic: Its The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Think about it! Has Linus' descent into madness, the cruelty of other children to Charlie Brown, Snoopy cosplaying so thoroughly he internalizes PTSD and trauma of war, and a serial killer in town who gives rocks to children.

My uncle worked for Alexander Graham Bell as a child doing odd jobs for him then later fought in the Battle of the Bulge (for Canada) where he got shot 25 times and was left for dead but survived.
I don't need the lore behind your favorite posters... tell me about your uncles

New book dropped, just in time for spooky season. Seminary's motto is "Beyond Walls" wanted to look to future & call it "Beyond Beyond Walls". Editor said nobody would get it. Was reminded that "It's such a fine line between stupid and clever" and agreed.

Covered Augustine in church history class this week. One of my favorite responses to a question was when student asked years ago “Why did Augustine leave Milan & go back to Carthage” I said “Because like Right Said Fred he realized he was too sexy for Milan.” Shout out to one student who laughed.

I was at a video arcade with my son and some of his friends and someone was doing a work Zoom call in the middle of the arcade with their laptop on a flat tabletop Ms Pac Man game and was not using headphones.
I also don't understand this increasing phenomenon. Reminds me of the time I was quietly eating my bagel in a restaurant in the Texas Medical Center while clearly hearing an entire conversation on speaker phone half-way across the room in which physicians were discussing someone's medical condition.
I write sermons on Wed mornings in the same coffee shop. It's interesting to see the ebb & flow of the crowd and vibe. But today, loud speaker phone conversation "Just yes or no, didn't I tell you to buy 1000 shares of this stock?" while someone 4 ft away scrolls titktok at full volume
