Part of this week’s newsletter was inspired by the post below. Was there a way to show the distance between normal Americans and the super wealthy?

We 100% need a publicly owned, independent media outlet and the best we have is the BBC.

What we don't need is a segment on the Dr strikes with someone from the BMA, Wes Streeting sound bites and some random dude who knows nothing but his Drs appointment was cancelled.

"I would like to be close to you. But not too close. You can't stroke me. But I want to touch you."

Not that my cat's a bit of a diva or anything.

I need to get dressed and take the boy to school but I'm completely cream crackered. 😴

Could someone cattle prod me?

Reform in Lancashire threatens closing five day centres and five care homes, with “reprovision” forcing disabled or older adults (including a 106-year-old) into alternative support.

I've just said hello to someone I thought I knew.

I didn't know them.

They said hello back to me like they knew me.

Isn't the human condition wonderful?

Social media is proof that humans should be allowed nice things.

I want the days when the most controversial opinion was about what someone put in their lunch time jacket potato back.

I am so anxious about everything and where the world feels like it's going to.

But I'm also so tired and I don't know what to do.

Well that explains why Trump is after the BBC.
Nowhere in the hysterical pile-on against the BBC in the British press has anyone mentioned that BBC News now has 77 million viewers & listeners in the US and has established itself as the second most trusted news source there.

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Calling all crafters on the island of Ireland! The knitting and Stitching show is in Lisburn this year and it looks like it's going to be a great line up.

I'll be there on Thursday and Sunday if anyone fancies a Bluesky meet up! #CraftSky #SewSky
There's nothing like leaving things to the last minute!

I'm busy prepping for the Knitting and Stitching Show. I'll be doing a demo of my jeans into skirt make with box pleats on Thursday.

If you're similarly last minute and don't have tickets yet LASTMINUTE will get you £4 off. 😊🪡🧵🧶

I DEMAND Panorama IMMEDIATELY produces a documentary showing Kamala Harris not instigating a violent riot, not sexually assaulting anyone, or getting fined for denying it, or being found guilty of business fraud, or f*cking a porn star AND accepting the result of an election.
You know. For balance.

Watching Death By Lightning and it boggles my mind that it was only 144 years ago.

The world has changed beyond recognition in less than 150 years. Every single aspect of life has been transformed.

The only thing that hasn't changed is the often completely fucked up human condition.

The BBC should serve as an example to all that there is nothing you can give the far rabid right that will satisfy it.

It has simpered, pandered, soft-balled and fluff-jobbed, both-sidesed and debased itself into being a platform for liars to look down the camera and lie on, & it still gets fucked.

Head of BBC News resigns because of systematic and serious bias. At last - the right wing bias has been highlighted...

*Gets message in ear*

Oh right. Apparently there is bias against Trump. WTAF?!

The Greens being good in power or not is not the point.

If you are left of centre in any way you should be celebrating their increase in visibility because that's what will drag Labour back from their march to the right.

Can anyone recommend any academic essays (that are publicly available online or that you could send me) exploring the parallels between Loki and Ulysses expanding on Snorri's slightly throwaway lines on the topic. Or failing that, general explorations of Troy-as-Asgard? #MedievalSky #ClassicsSky

Should we all go back to using the term anti-fascist?

It drives me nuts how it's has morphed into an-tif-a, obscuring the meaning.

Other ponderance this morning - have years of flippancy over the use of the word fascist diluted the word beyond recognition?

I decided to crochet something for the first time in a couple of years.

Half way through a blanket I have just realised I've been going into the stitches on the row below in the wrong place.

How have I got that so wrong?!? 🤦🏻‍♀️
