Passionate about the power of creativity and connection. Teaching sewing in Belfast. Posts about sewing, cats, dogs and random ramblings. Was @abbyjss at the other place.
I got a little excited earlier that sitting in a particular position helped ease the abdominal pain I live with ATM.

Then I remembered I took a pretty hefty painkiller about 30 minutes before sitting down. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I usually love Sliced Bread on Radio 4 but the episode on dark chocolate annoyed me.

The woman on the show ate dark chocolate but then stopped when she heard there are traces of lead and cadmium in it.

She was "researching" chocolate when she read about this but couldn't find more evidence.

I once met the falcon in Trafalgar Square. Someone got the best photo of it landing on my arm.

Over the years with many phone and computer changes the photo got lost. I'd love to have it again. It was just such cute joy and excitement.
Everybody at the railway station was mesmerised. Like a rock star was using public transport.

It doesn’t take much to knock us off our normal day and instil some glamour.

Use the materials you're hoarding.
Use that cute pen, the fancy tape, one of the 40 notebooks.
Draw with those alcohol markers before they dry up.

Art materials are meant to be used, not gather dusts.

"I'm afraid to waste it." Time spent using them = experience. And experience is never wasted.

There should be more books, movies and TV shows featuring new friendships in adulthood.

Most you see are people thrown together because of ridiculous circumstances.

I want to watch regular middle aged women finding their tribes.

Honestly - tonight's news was wall to wall have I missed something or has everyone been drinking stupid juice?

He says Del Boy was his hero growing up so he's going to be an entrepreneur.

Did I completely misunderstand Only Fools and Horses?

When I was 13 I was "going out" (I think we had one date) with a boy in my class. A friend told me he was going to dump me so I decided I would get in there first.

I cringe at that memory.

The right wing are really just a bunch of teenagers, aren't they?

Can someone give me an American history lesson?

I have it in my head that the 2nd amendment was made so people could carry guns to protect themselves in case the state was taken over by militia and threatened people's freedom.

In a very real sense it doesn't actually matter because she says this shit with such conviction that some people will believe it.

It reminds me of my brother dying of a brain tumour and he would say things that couldn't be true with such conviction it would make me second guess myself.
Does Nadine Dorries really believe the stuff that comes out of her mouth?

Does she really believe that most people in the conservatives are left wing?

I'm going to be in that there London over Easter. Literally only over Easter weekend though.

So you know all those tantalising events/meet ups you all talk about that make me wish I still lived in London? How about someone arranges one for Easter weekend? 😆

Is there anything good happening in the world ATM? Anything? Anything at all?

Focusing on the small things helps, the nice chat with a barista, a sunny day after days of overcast weather, painkillers allowing me to bend over.

But I think I need to hear people's big good news today.

On a zoom meeting for a lecture and someone has joined with sound and blasting adverts to everyone.

Seriously - it's been 5 years of these things, how do people still not know to mute themselves?

I'm giving up on buying online.

Royal mail told the seller they delivered but there is no card, we were in when they said they delivered, we have no "safe place".

About 2/3 of online purchases have been fucked up for us recently. It's just not worth the stress.

It has just occurred to me that I haven't had post in well over a week.

Something was posted to me first class on the 6th and still isn't here.

Royal Mail were bollocking on about their Christmas delivery rates but every January is becoming a black hole for post.

UKIP is still a thing?

I wonder how many UKIP supporters get their knickers in a twist about people not wearing poppies on TV.
Ukip have submitted a new logo and slogan to the Electoral Commission, swapping the £ pound sterling symbol for a cross, that looks very much like it is modelled on the Iron Cross used by Prussia & Germany 1871-1918 and Hitler's Nazi regime from 1933-45

Which has made today quite amusing.

The thing that really sticks out for me is this woman was expressly looking for dates with people who would actively dislike her children. Wtf?
Guys, I was only *pretending* to be a white supremacist in order to be liked and trusted by white suprematists on an explicitly white supremacist dating site :)
