given everything we know about the forces that have intentionally destroyed higher education as a site of secure employment, anyone making the argument that they didn’t get a job because they’re white and male is either a lying grifter or so bad at analysis they should lose their PhD

Their very obvious claim is that it’s racist discrimination to *have a policy to address racial disparities* but it’s fine to have a system that simply creates massive racial disparities. The correction attempt is the outrage. Not the disparities. Because they are white supremacists.

the thing about white academics claiming they lost jobs because of whiteness is always funny to me because if you keep asking questions you find out they think they deserve a professor job because their dad had one.

Again, I really wish more papers would get accustomed to the form “Trump unlawfully pretends to…” when describing things Trump says he’s doing but has no legal power to do.
Like renaming the Defense Department the "War Department," the name of the Kennedy Center has not been legally changed, because Congress has not changed it-->

No dean in the history of academia has ever told a job applicant they were being blocked be side they were white because (a) that never actually happens and (b) if it did there would be a massive lawsuit.

But thank you, Naomi Wolf, for confirming that this is something the Crazies believe.
You’ll never guess who else experienced ‘racism’ on the job market despite their unimpeachable academic credentials.

not releasing it will, in itself, also detract from their winning streak and make the inevitable leak of the text more of a news event.
BREAKING: The Democratic National Committee will NOT release its long-awaited autopsy on Trump's 2024 win. The report is completed but Dem leaders decided it could distract from their winning streak, so it will remain secret. Not good.

Wow, look at these totally independent and respected people who wanted to name it after the president.

The president himself! The president's chief of staff! The president's advisors! The attorney general! The vice president's wife! The president's favorite Fox News hosts! ... Uh, Lee Greenwood!

One of the most pernicious fictions is that performed debates are a useful mechanism for testing ideas and arriving at truth.

They are a means to demonstrate how agile you are at pleasing an audience.
I get these overtures to debate this or that person and let me ask you something. Why, in god’s name, would I do that? Is this high school? Do I have abs again??? Stacked bangs? What’s debating do in 2025??
