Announcement time: I am co-organising an archaeogaming session at this year's World Archaeology Congress in Darwin, Australia!

We're looking for papers that explore how archaeogames are used for storytelling and interpretation of archaeological data: worldarchaeologicalcongress.com/wac10/theme-...

Hurrah for the sweet potato!
Do you prefer potato or sweet potato fries? Early people in Aotearoa/New Zealand were definitely sweet potato pioneers! #NationalChipWeek

It's time to switch off, and I mean properly disconnect, for the holidays. I've suffered #burnout too many times to neglect #selfcare ever again
We are all better leaders if we’re in a good place physically and mentally, than if we’re tired or approaching burn-out. Exercising self-care, in whatever form that takes, really pays dividends. #leadership #selfcare #burnout

Was there a time "before history"? And what does the focus on written "history" say about our understanding & appreciation of Indigenous oral histories?

In their sapiens.org op-ed @stephenacabado.bsky.social et al. suggest to replace #prehistory with #DeepHistory:

Meowseum. 😺 Bring your cats to the museum. I'm all for public engagement. If the animals can't harm the objects and no allergic humans (like me), then why not? 😻 #cats

Dinner in the temple. With #qmkurilpa I hosted a 4 course meal within the exhibition space with spectacular food using ingredients available during Pharaonic era. Incredible ambiance and fabulous people. By far, the most rewarding public engagement event I have ever done.

Great to see this research published. It's a lifetime of work for Richard Robins and Errol Stock, validating their theory of Pleistocene occupation on Minjerabah (N. Stradbroke Island). Proud to have been part of this team
