4️⃣ He was serious but he's just negotiating, not going to do it.
5️⃣ He's going to do it for grand strategy reasons I've invented.

For non-German speakers:

“Dear media, I can’t stand the headline "No agreement between the US and Denmark” any longer. If an armed man storms a bank, you don't run the headline: "Robber and cashier can't reach an agreement on money transfer." Stop framing imperial aggression as normal diplomacy.”

Because after they convinced themselves that membership-driven voting is better than caucus selection (which is false), they have to keep dreaming up new reasons to prolong these contests for "energy" and "excitement," and "adding new people to the membership database."
I do not understand why Canadian political parties think it's a good or cool idea to go many months without a leader.

It's so basic, so true, that we should be terrified our leaders have shown us they are not up to the task.
Canada, like other western states, is worried about alienating Trump. But that just invites isolation next time, when it's your turn over the barrel, and everyone else stays silent for fear of alienating Trump.

Democracies worthy of the name must stand together for the rule of law, or fall apart.

Abysmal statement from Canada on the illegal US action in Venezuela.

It doesn’t matter how much you dislike Maduro, that doesn’t justify a violation of international law and the UN Charter. You can’t call on “all parties” to respect international law and not call out US lawlessness.
