I do think that unambiguously sentient AI could exist someday.
And I think we're going to have a really ugly battle about ethical treatment, personhood, and rights of nonhuman people when that happens - since the majority of current (and likely future) AIs are products sold by corporations.

"Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing" is a meme started with a fan video in 2009, which got so popular Nintendo themselves referenced it repeatedly. However, the earliest instance of Luigi winning by doing nothing actually comes from a game and predates the meme by 5 years.

However, the first instance of Luigi winning while doing absolutely nothing actually comes from Nintendo themselves. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Luigi wins a drama contest while playing grass, a role requiring him to lie down and be silent for the whole play. While it might at first appear that the other actors's performances were responsible for the victory, it turns out that everyone specifically liked Luigi doing absolutely nothing.

i know we live in an age where so many games are coming out so fast and demanding your attention but maybe just stick with a game for a while and play it over a few times, instead of tossing it aside and spending money on the next game you'll clear in a week tops and be done with

they weren't. it's not unfair game design it's intentionally obscure and obtuse so only the luckiest of the lucky find it as a reward for dedication. this is only a problem if you treat a game's content like a checklist to clear as fast as possible
