Lock all the leaders up in a room and make them play Russian roulette instead of getting citizens to fight a war for them
I do find it interesting all these reports about Ukraine trying to blow up Putin and apparently it is outrageous.

Why have we normalised the people who wage war being immune to war?

I say always target the leaders first, and then see who wants to wage war.

Like most things they did
I sometimes feel this failed project was commissioned by the Tories to enrich their business donors.
HS2 was clearly a good idea. But we could have delivered the same capacity improvements by adjusting the rail loading gauge and getting double decker trains. Raise some bridges, expand some tunnels. It would have been cheaper and faster but much less sexy.

I don’t disagree with that
I believe it would be good for the UK if England, Scotland and Wales were all independent countries trading freely as members of the EU.
I don’t blame them one iota

Only 1 million would be amazing to me. One billion could be a nightmare to manage and far more than I need at 77 yrs. I could retire on 1 million instead of continuing to work as I do

Tory Curse.
