Seems to be the most dramatic breakthrough in preventing/slowing dementia & alzheimer's ever. But it's a vaccine, so it doesn't get headlines.

Wish you could get the shingles vaccine before age 50. You don't have to be 50 to get shingles—I can attest as I had it last summer (not recommended).
The Shingles vaccine and reduction of dementia: a new natural experiment from Canada replicated 3 others and adds to this week's link to slowing of biological aging.

This awful story about a dying woman forced to endure a painful transfer to obtain MAID has a kernel of hope within it.

This may *finally* be the beginning of the end of Catholic hospital impunity in Canada, which legally stands on very thin ice but hasn't been forcefully challenged. Yet.

Re-upping this column because the idea seems to be gaining traction. But I think I didn't go far enough in this: the government should obviously be deleting its accounts so as to not have their tweets appear next to CSAM. But it should also be pursuing charges against X and banning it in Canada.

There are many reasons oppose BC’s plan to expand involuntary drug treatment. Not everything could be covered in a single statement.

Today, let’s talk about some of the evidence + ethical implications of co-opting caring professionals + requiring them to violate their professional ethics.

We Refuse: Health Workers Against Involuntary Care is now public.

@hrna.bsky.social and DSDP are circulating a joint statement opposing BC’s plan to expand involuntary drug treatment. This approach is ineffective, increases overdose risk, violates autonomy, and harms marginalized communities.

1. In a recent @jama.com review article on the harms of cannabis, the authors propose that 32% of those who use cannabis more than 20 days/month will develop #CHS cannabis hyperemesis syndrome.

This equates to about 2.75 million Americans, or 1% of the population each year suffering #medsky
