J.D. Vance was booed so badly at the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony that even the announcers commented on it.

“There is the Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife Usha—OOP, those are not… uh… those are a lot of boos for him. Whistling, jeering, some applause.”

With Ross Douthat's participation in that wild-ass podcast about the Epstein Files, I think we need to ask: is @nytimes.com employing a pedophile? It's weird that Douthat is hanging out with these creeps, and it's rather alarming that his editors are ok with it.

The GOP would be stupid to not take this deal. They lost a huge chunk of *Texas* because of ICE. Anything they can do to dial down the bad headlines is good for their prospects in November.
So (7) says to preserve—but strikes me more as create—the right of state and local govts to file criminal charges in excessive force cases.

Details will matter, but if that’s a statutory waiver of supremacy clause immunity, that strikes me as potentially a REALLY big deal.
Schumer & Jeffries lay out the Democratic demands for a DHS funding deal in a letter to the top Republican leaders

That piece on @obsidian.net struggling with Avowed and Outer Worlds was a bummer. I wish @microsoft.com would take a page from Square Enix and do some nice remakes of Fallout and Fallout 2 to make them more accessible and enjoyable to modern players

Don't think I've seen such a damning, direct, and accurate analysis of the dire straits that "moderate" politicians and their boosters (Matt Yglesias, David Shor, etc.) have put the country in.
This part of our response essay is where I'm at. Boiling down all of politics to electoralism has been absolutely terrible for resisting rising authoritarianism.

Always thought it was interesting that @nytimes.com contributor Ross Douthat always supported this guy's research despite the obvious racism behind his shoddy work
Forgive me, Jesus, because I genuinely deeply enjoy how perpetually unhappy and desolate these losers are.

Woah. Maybe just a fluke of a lower turnout special election, but still remarkable for a deep red TX district to flip.
Still watching the results come in, but it would appear the Republican candidate is admitting defeat: she told her election party she’d be “back in November.” More soon.

Any Democrat who accepts this doxxing nonsense should be primaried. @foushee.house.gov I hope you help other Dems understand that Tillis, like all NC Republicans, is a despicable liar and general villain.
Tillis says he opposes ICE being barred from wearing masks: "I've seen people dox me. I've seen people take pictures and identify law enforcement officers and then put their families at risk. So, I think that's a step too far."

People only care about remasters of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but I think Microsoft is leaving money on the table by not getting one of their many subsidiaries to remake FO1 and FO2. #Fallout #Microsoft

Matt Yglesias and other centrists are dumb, yeah, but "Newsom won't win the primaries because he's too liberal" is a wild take. Newsom isn't going to win the primaries, but not for that reason.
