On September 9, 2025, PD Dr. rer. nat. Mir-Farzin Mashreghi gave his inaugural lecture “From Immune Response to Long-Term Immunity". On June 16, 2025, Mir-Farzin Mashreghi habilitated at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, thereby qualifying him to teach experimental pediatrics.

Alexandra Damerau and Timo Gaber, DRFZ and Charité, have used an in-vitro 3D model to show that mechanical stress can attenuate inflammation-induced cartilage degradation in osteoarthritis. They also demonstrated the anti-inflammatory effect of JAK inhibitors.
