the constitution isn’t is a word game and the fact that you can abuse the language to produce an outcome does not mean the constitution allows that outcome. the 22nd amendment was ratified to restrict a president to two terms in office, period. that is what it does.
Anyone discounting a 3d Trump term per the 22d am + the 12th am is thinking magically: The 22d dsn’t bar *serving* a 3d term, only being *elected* 3 times. The 12th dsn’t bar running for VP unless “ineligible” to serve as Pres, but Trump isn’t ineligible. QED!

Trump Says He’s ‘Not Joking’ About Seeking a Third Term in Defiance of Constitution
In wide-ranging remarks to “Meet the Press,” Mr. Trump said “a lot of people” wanted him to serve a third term and vowed to impose tariffs on global rivals, according to a transcript of the interview ...

People X and other platforms like Facebook “report” fraud like this is being “revealed” daily. They always provide either zero or falsified proof with obviously outrageous numbers while being rewarded monetarily for posting.

We live in a post-truth America.

yes. it is very clear that a lot of people do not connect voting “for trump” with voting “for republicans”
voters may also believe GOP staff is far to the right of their own views, but that’s why Trump’s insistence on his personal primacy and his strategic moderation — no cuts to social security and medicare, splitting gay and trans issues, total bluster on abortion — were so important to his rise.
but why do they only believe that about democrats when it is much more true about republicans? and about issues that actually matter instead of made-up cultural grievances?

One annoying thing about historical research is looking up how long it took to get from A to B in the US by train in 1880 and then looking it up now and realizing it was faster in 1880.

remains incredibly striking to me that most of the entire cadre of “democrats must reach out to rural americans” and “democrats must speak to blue collar americans” pundits are sour on the Walz pick
