Doctor in Manchester. Huge nerd. LGBTQ+ activist and advocate 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Puts tubes in tubes for a living. Like machines that go beep and grey/black/white pictures - occasionally with red and blue. He/him.

Hi #medsky I’m Duncan.
I’m a doctor in Manchester. I like when tubes go in other tubes and when the numbers aren’t red any more.
I also like gay stuff. I also spend my free time telling medical organisations to be less shit to queer people.
And now for some grade A cringe💪

Hello #medsky my name is Jamie

I'm a GP with a special interest in child health. I also work in a children's hospice.
I now live on Dartmoor. I like video games, the gym and a bloody good pun.

Apropos of the BBC front page: The right to free speech means you can (within limits) say what you want to say and the *government* can't stop you.

It doesn't mean others can't protest what you're saying, and by that protest make it difficult for you to be heard. That is *also* free speech.

Doesn’t feel good that the head of BBC News Content is instructing reporters to refer to trans people with slurs. If this leak is real it raises questions about who made this decision, who was consulted, and why the BBC chose to ignore its own editorial guidelines on slurs and offensive language
EXCLUSIVE
The BBC has circulated leaked guidance telling journalists to describe trans women as “biological males”.

Clarity should not come at the cost of dignity. #bbc #humanrights #journalism #transparency #transrights

Very interesting to compare and contrast the responses between here and the app formerly known as Twitter…
"You spout shite on a podcast to reinforce your 𝘰𝘸𝘯 position that "civil war is coming"... it's a self-fulfilling prophecy."

Elon Musk has now claimed England’s ‘hobbit-like’ towns are rife with rape while on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

Okay so a friend said something to me about a “gay little nerd” and I thought shouldn’t it be ‘little gay nerd’?
So I had to go check the grammar of order of adjectives which is:

Opinion -> Size -> Age -> Shape -> Colour -> Origin -> Material -> Purpose.

A political party, that's topping the polls, lauding someone who called for human beings to be burned to death should be a moment for national self-reflection.

This is not who we are nor who we should become.

Reform UK are a plague on our national humanity. We must never permit them to govern.

Piece that I wrote for the @rcoanews.bsky.social blog for Pride month has been published.

This year, it felt important to talk about the very real threats facing our community and the importance of practicing advocacy and allyship.

I’ve long espoused the borderline heretical view that the NHS needs more managers, not fewer as is often touted
Didn't promote my latest properly, so, yeah - NEW BLOGPOST

Basically, Britain is bad at management, it's fucking our economy, and politicians and journalists don't address it because they are the worst exemplars of it.

They just want to exclude trans people from public life.

They aren’t even hiding it. Not for one service because of sex assigned at birth, not for the other because of presentation.
