Zinc-Dependent Proteins Could Hold Key to Cancer and Viral Therapies
The molecular mechanism has been uncovered by which zinc-dependent proteins, known as macrodomains, reverse ADP-ribosylation—a key regulatory process in cells linked to cancer and viral infections.

After a very "dry" January and a long day in a curriculum development workshop, it was nice to go to the pub last night and celebrate our OER book launch with the librarians who helped us publish.

Happy New Year from snowy Sheffield! 🍾🥂
I hope you enjoyed the festivities and got some nice pressies (I asked Santa for a winning lottery ticket, but alas, he did not oblige ... I guess I must have been a naughty boy 😨).

1. I feel like this is such obvious advice that it gets taken for granted & consequently no one says this to young scientists but READ PAPERS, read all the papers. As you move up in your career you will have less & less time to do this. Read everything that appeals to you not just in your field
