This is so horrifying and so tragic. Vaccines save lives.
Measles can be serious. It can weaken the immune system, leading to pneumonia and other infections, and trigger encephalitis — swelling of the brain. It can infect the central nervous system over years causing a condition called SSPE. Since 2020 there have been 7 SSPE deaths.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: A child has died after contracting measles in Liverpool, where public health officials fear a growing outbreak of the disease.
