Worth lobbying any political people you know about this. We’re very lucky to have the rights and freedoms we do have. But they’re in danger of being slowly (and sometimes quickly) eroded.
Quality trails = more healthy, happy walking people. 🚶

So we're shocked to learn that ScotGov’s post-Brexit farm subsidy system will fail to replace lost funding for paths and access. ➡️ www.ramblers.org.uk/post-brexit-...

Scotland will be left with the worst funding for outdoor access in Britain.🤦🏻‍♀️

If Vladimir Putin or Xi Jinping threatened to sue the BBC for a billion dollars, would the UK Government respond by saying "This is a matter for the BBC." Just asking.

What you’re witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.

This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.

Unbelievable....... wait a minute......All too believable headlines and reporting of racist white on BBC. Imagine if he'd been black / Muslim / supporter of Scottish Independence.
Wow - those are quite phenomenal headlines given the details of the story.

Ahh look, he’s just a ‘nerdy’ guy. No harm done.

You need to scroll down to paragraph 13 of the Sky piece to find the full story!

This sounds pretty accurate from

in his "Striking 13" Substack. "I sometimes get the sense that Labour politicians believe the public is innately reactionary and that any social progress has to therefore be made through subterfuge or communicative ingenuity."

Heart goes out to the poor people of York. In Edinburgh, we barely coped when we had to manage without a Duke when Philip died. It seemed like an age till we got a new one.

Always a great pit stop from highland forays. Best ice cream in Scotland (not including Glasgow of course), and top quality fish suppers too.

Great work as always. Can't understand why the political consensus continues to shy away from implementing serious changes to land ownership laws. For any governing party it would be an open goal, almost uniquely achieving economic benefits with the popularity they crave.

Agreed - but my guess is that most of the US - Russia deal is already in place. The next bit is mainly about presentation - how to shaft a carved up Ukraine, and preparing the ground for doing the same in the Arctic. They've probably worked behind the scenes on this since before the 2016 election.
This'll be a disaster. We should prepare for the most obvious outcome, which is the US swinging behind Russian demands. Hope for a different result, plan for the worst.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed the plans for a call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 18, state news agency TASS reported.

We can be sure that this cover-up involves orders, rules of engagement, or (more likely) a culture spreading down from a very high level. If it was just young squaddies involved, they would likely be left just as high and dry as their Afghan colleagues.

The SGA claimed the programme caused "unfair reputation [sic] damage".

Nope, reputational damage is not being caused by the BBC reporting the evidence, it's being caused by criminal gamekeepers who continue to kill birds of prey.

Yet again, if these were climate protestors, there'd have been multiple arrests, with some facing years in jail for "public nuisance". But farmers can block the road and drown out the Prime Minister and the police won't touch them.

I'm pretty sure that we all knew at the time that this sort of stuff would be going on. Always the same - nothing is changed until it's way too late, history is slowly being re-written (in small print rather than headlines), and the next phase of fooling us all is well under way.
