The thing is that achieving mental *health* for the majority of people requires us all realising that we're being made sick by our societies. Psychotherapy isn't funded because it foments revolution when done well. CBT teaches you to shut up and stop bothering the grown-ups.
The TLDR of the Streeting review is your quality of life doesn't matter so long as you are contributing to the economy and employment stats - which will exacerbate most MH conditions and increase suicide rates, which they don't care about either because the economy, stupid.

You'd think that a country presenting itself as a mature democracy would have some sort of system in place to prevent outside interference, right?

Right?

They keep talking about unfairness. But you too can hire a brand new car. Eg: Ford Kuga 2.5, on Motability costs £1400-£7000 upfront and £77.05 per week. Auto trader deal, £4100 upfront and £79 per week. Main diff is without Motability you are responsible for your insurance.

Politicians claim - “Millions of people claiming disability benefits for ADHD and getting free cars”
Reality - 190,000 people claim DLA for ADHD and may be eligible for a Motability car, that costs £77.05 per week (the mobility element of PiP/DLA/ADP which is a non-means tested benefit).

NEW: Net migration falls sharply to 204,000 in the year to June.

That’s a fall from 649,000 in the year to June 2024. It is a drop of nearly 80% from its 2023 peak.

hey remember when you all spent 18 months starving poor kids and punishing any labour politician who rebelled against it?

also: politicians should not have 'moral missions'.
Labour is scrapping the two child benefit cap to deliver on our historic moral mission of tackling child poverty.

Restoring something that should not have been taken away... blocking a cruelty- is NOT giving something. The two child cap should have been obliterated AS SOON AS Labour took power. It was a cruelty that they allowed it to continue.

Rachel Reeves says she’s ending “Motability tax breaks”.
Sounds like she’s cracking down on luxury cars, right?

That’s not what’s happening.

These changes raise costs for all disabled people on the scheme, including those with the cheapest cars.

Here’s how. 👇🧵
