Reading a beautiful non-calculus derivation of the formula for the volume of a sphere using Cavalieri's Principle. (Sometimes, I forget the treasure that is math.stackexchange.com ) math.stackexchange.com/questions/16...
Why is the volume of a sphere $\frac{4}{3}\pi r^3$?
I learned that the volume of a sphere is $\frac{4}{3}\pi r^3$, but why? The $\pi$ kind of makes sense because its round like a circle, and the $r^3$ because it's 3-D, but $\frac{4}{3}$ is so random...

It turns out, immediate cause of death for Catherine O'Hara was a pulmonary embolism, with an underlying cause of rectal carcinoma. Well, sadly, at least we know. About a quarter of all venous thromboembolic disease is due to underlying cancer.
A while back I had a friend who suffered a pulmonary embolism. He was diagnosed and treated successfully after experiencing sudden severe shortness of breath. So, the sad news about Catherine O’Hara has had me doing a deep dive refresher on the subject.
