I made that Minion pull-apart cake with three different kinds of cupcakes and frosting and dammit I'm using it as my avatar.
I'm in one room trying to stay awake for a "defensive spectacle" (??) Lions - Eagles, meanwhile my husband is in the next room watching the Grey Cup and screaming at the TV every 45 seconds.

Realise that I'm not in a position to diss the CFL like I usually do in my most superior fashion.

No, the early stages of dictatorship are called "democracy"

Honestly, it feels like so many of you almost crave a fascist takeover as some sort of romantic fantasy - probably because few of you have ever really seen a truly repressive government.
just in the early stages...

When George II’s son, the Duke of Cumberland (who had been a war hero in his 20s) capitulated to the French in 1757 he returned home and George II said "Here is my son who has ruined me and disgraced himself.” Cumberland was stripped of his offices and withdrew from public life.

Good news for the King.

There is precedent for stripping a royal title from a troublesome family member: Henry VIII decreed that his daughters were no longer Princesses

One wrinkle: He did so by declaring them illegitimate.

I caught a mouse in a trap in the basement closet. It had been free ranging for a few days. This would not be extraordinary except for the fact that I have three cats -"freeloaders" as they will now be known.

Tyler Warren is pretty damn good. Just rumbled through a couple Rams on a fullback handoff for the touchdown on 4th down.

L.A. gets burned for giving up the short field.

Colts 10, Rams 3, 7:14 1Q.

If this had happened in Canada, where we mock, laugh at and downplay assassination attempts on our leaders, she would have probably spent less than 5 years in jail. Nobody, from the courts to the citizenry, takes political assassination seriously in this country.
