Dems were winning on this. The court was either going to force the release of SNAP funds, which is a win, or SCOTUS would have overruled the lower courts. If SCOTUS forces you to give in, at least you can blame them and win some PR points. It makes no sense that they gave in now.

The answer Sen, Shaheen is that since America elected the Black man to be president, the official position of the Republican Party is “not to work together with Democrats to address the problems that are facing this country.”

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

A long and comprehensive opinion, but this jumped out at me: The judge accused the Federal Protective Service—which was called in to suppress the protests—of lying under oath to slander the regular Portland police.😬
DOJ recently admitted that other FPS claims in this case were objectively false.

The federal shutdown and cuts to SNAP benefits have placed an unfair and unexpected burden on households. No one should have to choose between keeping the lights on and putting food on the table.
