DOGE was not a "cost-cutting measure," the assault on universities was not a "fight against anti-semitism," and the extra-judicial murder spree sure as shit is not an "anti-drug campaign."

You do not have to just take their word for everything.

I just finished re-reading His Dark Materials for the first time since I was a teenager. In the ~20 years since, I’ve experienced a lot that has changed the way I understood the books. I find them so much wiser and more interesting now.

1) that's highly illegal. 2) there's no proof the people in those boats are involved in the drug trade 3) in a bunch of cases those boats are not headed for the US 4) it's murder regardless.
Trump: "I don't think we're necessarily going to ask for a declaration of war, I think we're just gonna kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. We're going to kill them. They're going to be, like dead."

Love this.
Lego MRI scanner set (donated to hospitals) a big help for kids who need scans:

"more than 1 million children globally have used the sets to help them prepare...96% of healthcare professionals said the model helps to reduce children's anxiety, and 46% reported a lesser need to use sedation"
How Lego MRI scanner sets are reducing anxiety in children undergoing medical treatment
Lego's MRI scanner play sets, which launched in 2023, are significantly reducing anxiety and the use of sedation in children, according to new research.

And the response is out! I think Brown did a good job highlighting how agreeing to the compact would require violating their prior agreement, among other things.
Really glad to see MIT reject the White House compact. Your move, Brown!

Still thinking about the Transform! exhibit at the Montreal Biosphere and how much I want to see a transition to technology that is radical in the amount of power it *doesn’t* use. Forget data centers and AI, what can you do with the amount of power an 80s solar cell calculator uses?
