I think that linking worsening material conditions for working class people, out of control healthcare costs, the Democratic party being too cozy with tech billionaires, and how ALL of this ties directly to an increased risk of fascist takeovers is a much more useful explanation than "The GOP sucks"

Democratic candidate who address head-on the Democrats' failure over the last two generations (at least) to substantially and durably improve material conditions for working class Americans over the last two generations, and who talk about what needs to change, will do better IMHO in the general.

This is a correct and historically well-informed take by AOC. It's so much better than the Democratic Party messaging which tries to talk about Republicans' authoritarian moves while completely ignoring the worsening material conditions that make right-populist movements popular.
AOC on why Trump returned to office: "when you have economic stagnation, for the working class that, especially in an environment where GDP is growing, that is the stuff of populist movement. The choice is what direction those populist movements can go."

This story would not have been nearly this detailed if the driver had hit a random pedestrian.

Traffic violence suddenly gets covered more in-depth when police are involved. Weird how that works.

If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, gun reform, universal child care, and a living wage.

The right-wing agenda isn’t about “life.”

It’s about control.

Why did Biden's climate policies fail to cement EVs in US life? Only well-off ppl have been buying lots of new cars—IRA leaned into that.

The EV subsidies for expensive cars had income caps—but were de facto most relevant for buyers earning just under the limit. Not much help for working class.

Even if you fully intend to vote for whoever the Democratic nominee ends up being, there’s a huge difference between doing that quietly in November 2028 and loudly announcing it years in advance with zero conditions attached.
What's the purpose of saying that there's no position so extreme that someone could lose your vote? Especially this far out? You're effectively giving possible candidates the all clear to move as far right as they'd like. This seems foolish.

What Rubio describes is not how it went. In the colonial period, free land, religious toleration, "mild govt", fast +easy naturalization so U could bequeath land to heirs were the main reasons peeps came. Belonging was also defined by enslaved importation + Indigenous dispossession.
The Rubio speech really is appalling, and if you haven’t read it yet, you should.
