SHE DID THE THING

Also, I love a tribute to Italians talking with their hands.

American athletes were cheered, and JD Vance was booed, and Italy is having a good night
February 6, 2026 at 9:08 PM
Why do they keep talking about athletes who have nothing to do with the Winter Olympics?

If Italians boo the Serie A anthem on the regular — which they do! — then this will be light work for them.

that's both great defense and then a hilarious shot selection from a known jabroni
The last Suns possession was an experience

It was nearly 70 degrees here in Medford today — which is BAD for February — and the neighborhood kitties I see on my walks were loving it.

It's Thursday, and that means it's almost time for The Pitt.

I get this, but here's where I'm at:

Trump & Vance are the worst of us. America is bigger than them, and they win if we let them define us.
Team USA is the best of us. It's filled with Americans MAGA hates—first-generation + immigrants, LGBTQ+ athletes, people of color—& I'm gonna root for them.
I really really want these athletes to have a great experience, be competitive and perhaps win a gold medal, but, honestly, the thought of hearing "USA!USA!USA!" during their games kinda makes me cringe. If we were any other country the IOC would ask us to march under the olympic flag.

As part of their commitment to "keeping print strong," they have laid off 80 percent of a world-class (literally, they have the awards to prove it) design staff as well as all of their photographers.

Pretty bad look when you're lying to your highest paying customers right out of the gate.
The Washington Post ran a full-page letter to subscribers in today's print edition from exec editor Matt Murray stating that it is committed to sports and local coverage after laying off the vast majority of the staff on those desks

I know folks keep thinking about skiing and all that. But I keep thinking about how bad the summertime and wildfire season will potentially be.

Can’t wait to see what the Washington Post sports desk says about the Wizards trade!

Never mind. Bezos just killed it.

the Washington Post layoffs are awful in every regard. I am under no pretense that Trump-glazing collateral damage was intended as an intelligent biz decision. However, I want to address closing its sports desk.

If you want to do journalism that gets eyeballs, sports is the LAST desk to close.

Crockett: "Now my colleagues want to be the protectors of girls & women. I didn't hear them screaming this when Renee Good was killed in the middle of the street by the same people the vast majority of you just voted to give more money to. It was a lot of crickets, including about the Esptein files"
