PSA: Smoke alarms need regular testing so they work when you need them. Might sound obvious but a fire in my 4 flat building this weekend saw all smoke alarms fail except mine. Check your smoke alarm works 🔥 🚨

@shelaghfogarty.bsky.social you did well with that Iranian professor.
Your patience on a Friday afternoon with him talking over you was to be commended.
He seemed an overbearing man with a dubious recollection on events concerning women.

Worth reiterating 👇
The most common and stupid misconceptions are that wages are low because immigration and prices are high due to 'the cost of living'.

When obviously wages are low because your bosses don't want to pay you and prices are high because billionaires are greedy.

Wind, solar and other renewables hit a new high last year but the government is still some way off its clean power target.

2026.

The year that, if you want to see Reform defeated once and for all, you get behind our Labour government and promote the work they are doing to repair and rebuild our country.

You either do this to defeat Reform. Or you chose another path and help them to power.

One of the first things a Farage government will do will be to make sure "the young are
taught correctly about our history," and if that doesn't set off all manner of alarm bells then it should. (MAIL)

Just a gif of the EU flag projected onto the London Eye as part of Mayor Sadiq Khan's London's New Year's Day fireworks 😀

The UK is £90 billion a year poorer because of Brexit i.e. tax rises and spending cuts, it's absurd

One day soon the madness will end and the UK will #RejoinEU ☺️

We are now thoroughly in the agonal gasps of 2025.

Would anyone like to join me in asking this year to politely take its things and fuck straight off?

For all of Farage’s bombast and bravado, Reform is basically just a retirement home for disgraced Tories - and the media should be reporting it as such

I've just heard a hairdresser claiming the Labour government is crushing small businesses.
So, I look at how many businesses there are in the UK, and according to stats, there are 5.7 million businesses in the UK, and increase of 3.5% on last year.

Some people do my head in.
This arse is one of them.
Why TF would we care about his business…? Did he care about all the SMEs bankrupted by Brexit? Does he feel any anxiety or shame about just how much that stupid idea has cost our country and many of us personally.
No.
He can absolutely do one.
