I've been organizing a "Haunted Carnival" event for the 9th and 10th graders at my school. It's meant to be a PBIS reward thing. I've been so busy+tired from teaching, moving, CrossFit, and grad school that I haven't had a chance to make+do much for the event even though it's my passion project. Ugh

English Language Arts teachers whose students write in Google Docs: I strongly suggest that you turn off the 'predictive text' feature for all your students. Some students are typing whatever it suggests, even if it makes no sense.

Folks demanding political / ideological purity fail to see that this is no longer a movement belonging to the left / liberals. This is an opposition against fascism. By definition it must be big tent. Failure to grasp this: see divided oppositions in Eastern Europe as your failed examples.

Why are all our national unions doing things that directly go against the interests of working people? They are either 'in on it' or simply incapable of meeting the current moment. There's no reason to cozy up to the AI lobby like this. It's blatantly part of the fascist project in the USA.
AI should make workers’ jobs easier, grow their skills and respect their rights. But without any guardrails, Big Tech will use AI to destroy our jobs and rights. Our Workers’ First AI initiative is here to make sure workers actually benefit from AI.

Our economic system is based on the people who own everything paying us the bare minimum that we need to survive on and working us as much as we will accept and using the profits from that to repeat the process as much as possible in a chain reaction of exploitation and runaway 'growth.'

While waiting at a stop light I observed: cop gets out of car and walks to put a parking ticket on a car that is parked in a 'no parking any time' spot. Owner of car walks out of business it was parked next to and he's obviously a door dasher delivery guy just trying to get an order and go.
