Quixotic. Through and through. All opinions are my own, not my employers. Because I have a soul and corporations do not.

At risk of flogging a dead horse: this whole letter is a reminder that the creative process is an end in and of itself, and vital to self-actualisation. You can’t experience BECOMING, as he puts it, by outsourcing it to ChatGPT.
In 2006 a high school English teacher asked students to write to a famous author & ask for advice.

KURT VONNEGUT - born 103yrs ago today - was the only one to respond.

His reply was a doozy.

Woke up in a foul mood. Drove to work in a foul mood. Logged in in a foul mood.

What does the rest of the day hold? And how will it be held? Who can tell!?

Watching Avatar (because of Magic the Gathering’s next release)

If I were a 12 year old boy when this came out this would have been an all time favorite.

What dummy thought heavily footnoted translations from a language you don’t know to subject matter you have issues with was a good way to spend Sunday mornings for months?

Oh, well over a billion persons? Ok. I’ll finish the book. (I do like it. It just requires too much braining)

40 years ago we’d have congressional hearings falsely accusing metal bands of putting backwards messages in their songs that told kids to kill themselves & now we have a planet-killing chatbot that’s all like “bet you won’t commit suicide chickenshit bitch” & the government is like here’s $5 billion

Now wait a minute... I was told these guys broke up by a newspaper in a crashed airplane many, many years ago.

I'd like to go back to the days where I was in a parasocial relationship with Conan, Andy, Nick and Megan. I mean, they still entertain me regularly, but I have to seek it out!
Can confirm. They were touring together a few years back, and we waited after the show to get them to sign an Offerman Wood shop thing for us. Just rockstars the whole way through...

I’m safe. This was my view from the office, where I was far too late. (But that seems like such a small problem now)

flight and hotel booked for another 4 day trip to Lehi UT in 2 weeks.

The nicest thing is the upgrade in seating is cheap enough no one fights me on it.

Good start. However, if it always comes in threes, I have some suggestions.
November 4, 2025 at 12:29 PM
1) People need to be able to accept being 'talked down to'
2) People need to know when they're going too far down an unhelpful, unfulfilling road
3) Sometimes people just want to feel heard
4) Church, Bars, Coworkers who aren't constantly afraid of a RIF should fulfill that need, but can't for many
I had a 45 year old rideshare driver tell me recently that he uses AI for therapy.

I asked him which one. He said “Grok— I like the voice it uses, the tone doesn’t talk down to me like ChatGPT’s does.”

He bragged that he had a 4 hour “therapy session” talking to Grok.

Chat, are we cooked?

This happened while I was playing Magic Saturday morning. The lady came in and was very nice. Waiting for her response now, but I ain’t worried.

Is this gonna be a whole bumper replacement? Plastic and fiberglass hate corners.

is it good for the economy if the 2 kinds of jobs are the kind that make you miserable and tired enough to spend 35 dollars to get a burrito delivered to your front door and the kind where you fetch the burrito and get 2 of the 35 dollars
