Surely it's only a matter of time before a US civilian injures or shoots a masked, unidentified "ICE agent" who is in the process of kidnapping someone in a public space?

Well-meaning economists who are conceding that Trump's tax cuts will "no doubt stimulate growth, the question is by how much" should all hang their heads in shame, because they fail to account for the foundational economic principle: the law of diminishing returns.

Concentration camps (with merch!). Gestapo. Forever War. Genocide. A system of indentured serfdom, slavery, for farm workers seized by ICE. A useless corporate press championing this descent into racist, violent fascism. What a shitty July 4th, America

I feel like the odds of a US debt crisis within the next decade is now better than a coin toss.

The death toll of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza is now estimated at 100,000

The list is 1,227 pages long.

The first 11 pages are names of babies dead before the age of 6 months.

The first 381 pages are all children.

When lawlessness is permitted it encourages further lawlessness. If justice is not allowed under law then it can only be gained extra-legally.

From now on I’m going to refer to the Trump admin as the “US regime” because that’s honestly what they deserve.

Raf Epstein rips into “friends & colleagues” in the media for not asking “whether or not what Israel is doing is illegal” in Iran & “not even asking questions about what the intelligence is”
Phil Coorey “I don’t think they care”

Further demonstration of the Trump admin's inability to do any 2nd order thinking is how Trump's two-facedness when it comes to his Iran "peace talks" will inevitably persuade any trade partners (esp. China) that nothing he says can ever be trusted & they should always prepare for the worst.

The US and Israel are apparently the only two countries in the world who are allowed to attack another sovereign nation preemptively, illegally, without international condemnation, under the fuzzy rationale of “self-defence.”

Australia has an opportunity to get out of AUKUS. We should take it.

We ask the Albanese Government to prioritise Australia's interests and security, and to join the UK and the US Governments in undertaking an independent parliamentary inquiry into AUKUS.

Kind of hoping DJT goes full Putin and throws Musk in jail. That might be the wake up call America’s oligarchs need.

If my arithmetic is not mistaken, this throws the Liberal party leadership vote into question.
Teal candidate Nicolette Boele has seized the once blue-ribbon seat of Bradfield after a recount of the north shore seat, beating Liberal hopeful Gisele Kapterian by just 27 votes in one of the tightest elections in history. tinyurl.com/3crnrw68

Each international student is like a small business making a decision on where to invest up to hundreds of thousands of dollars for the next 4 years, and DJT is telling them the US is not a bet worth taking.
This is a deliberate attempt to crash the US economy by destroying higher education.

If Trump has his way, he'll throw the US economy into a crisis as sharp and as brutal as Venezuela's. Good luck trying to find a country to accept all your economic refugees then.

About time Moodys faced reality. Fitch downgraded the US’s credit rating in 2023 and S&P back in 2011.
BREAKING:

For the first time in its history, Moodys has downgraded the credit rating of the United States from AAA to AA1.

While the US tariffs effects have yet to flow onto the cost of consumer goods yet, I expect them to do a real number on the influencer + socmed advertising economy, in a way that will be noticeable to anyone on FB/IG.

I wonder if a schism in the Catholic Church would go about as well for the US as its current administration’s attempt to wage a trade war against the rest of the world.
I am only 35 minutes into watching this but the things he has been saying for the last five minutes are such a stinging rebuke to the entire USCCB that I am now even more certain that schism that's been brewing for a while will happen in the next decade

I'm guessing Tony Gilroy didn't want to revisit his past work. He wrote a great and unheralded feature film called BEIRUT that's an adult spy drama dealing with how Beirut went from the Paris of the Middle East to a wartorn place.

I’m enjoying the Ghorman storyline on Andor, but can’t help feeling they really missed a vital opportunity by going with the most obvious and familiar comparisons to the French resistance instead of less familiar anti-colonial struggles eg Beirut the “Paris of the Middle East.”

"...our understanding of (RFK Jr.'s) disbelief in germ theory (is) based on Kennedy's own words. He wrote an entire section on it in his 2021 book vilifying Fauci, titled The Real Anthony Fauci. The section is titled 'Miasma vs. Germ Theory,' in the chapter 'The White Man's Burden.'" 🛟🧪😷 medsky
