"The initial results of our survey – coupled with a recent spike in calls to the GI Rights Hotline – suggest American men and women in uniform don’t want to obey unlawful orders."
Just follow orders or obey the law? What US troops told us about refusing illegal commands
A majority of service members understand the distinction between legal and illegal orders.

Them: "Who's skull is that?"
Me: *raising it to my lips to take a drink* "A guy named Phillip"
Them: "What's in it?"
Me: "Vodka and orange juice."
Me: *Pause* "It's a Phillip's head screw driver."

Follow The 2 Rogers Rule:
If neither Steve nor Fred would do it, you shouldn't either.
Protect your team. Be a good neighbor. Punch a Nazi. All are great examples of World Kindness Day.

This thread. 🧵

The world needs all of us to be more like Mr. Rogers, more of the time.
Today is world kindness day, and a perfect day to celebrate Fred Rogers and his impact on many of our lives.

He shared innumerable wise words with us, many which have stuck with me and guide me even today, and I'd like to share a few of them this morning.

No Starbucks 'til workers get more bucks

(and whatever else it is they are striking for)
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

The news from the Epstein documents is coming fast and furious, and a lot of it has the potential to be triggering and traumatizing to sexual abuse survivors.

Remember you don’t have to keep up with everything.

Mute keywords. Take a break. Curate your digital space.

It’s ok to step away.

If you feel overwhelmed, remember that you can still make a difference doing little things. A compliment or word of encouragement, a tip to a favorite takeout place, a donation to a local charity, an email to your favorite author, time with a pet, a walk outside, or a phone call to a loved one.

Remember: Just because doing the honorable thing might be hard to do, do it anyway. Why? Because it's the right thing to do. Don't capitulate yourself and your heart to dishonorable and immoral actions because others do. You deserve better and so do those people you impact around you.

Thread with some good information. 🧵

Your vote is important!

Don’t forget to vote
If you’re turned away at the polls (in Virginia or anywhere in the U.S.), here’s what to do:
- Request a written explanation: If poll workers deny your regular ballot, ask them to put in writing why they refused it.
