Just had the most amazing massage, and now I can barely stay upright but I'm absolutely ravenous and longing for a burger

I feel like I should be out exploring Shimla. But I'm tired, I've got a stinking cold, I've got a walking tour booked for tomorrow, and my hotel room is warm, luxurious, stocked with fresh fruit, with a bath deep enough to drown in.

I suppose the view is okay. #ShimlaToyTrain

Having smelled the toilets on this train at the point when we've only just left the station, I'll be restricting my liquids intake for the next five hours!

Just had the VERY exciting news that I have a @dwcon.org membership! I'm sad for whoever has had to drop out but YAY!!!

My train has already been delayed 45 minutes and it isn't even due to leave the station for another four hours. I shouldn't have booked the tour this morning - should have had a nice lie-in. I'm too tired to kill this much time in public

Hi perhaps you would like a little break from the news in the form of an essay about my trip to Centralia, Pennsylvania, the town that’s been on fire since 1962—a place where surprisingly I found a great deal of hope, wonder, and mystery.
The Rebirth of Pennsylvania’s Infamous Burning Town
Sixty years into the fire that left the town condemned, Centralia is now a haven for wild plants and butterflies.

I didn't believe this, so I went to my Inbox to check the regular updates I'm sent from the Electoral Commission to debunk it. I'm astonished to find that it is actually real. They have submitted this.
Ukip have submitted a new logo and slogan to the Electoral Commission, swapping the £ pound sterling symbol for a cross, that looks very much like it is modelled on the Iron Cross used by Prussia & Germany 1871-1918 and Hitler's Nazi regime from 1933-45

Mornington Crescent!
Welcome to new Bluesky users.

Here’s how we do things:

1. Always observe the Hambledon Protocol

2. No flisking

3. If someone tealights you, rink them without apology

4. I don’t mind them so much, but tissue-posts are generally frowned on

5. No questions

Good luck!

When I got in last night, it was cold. Now I've woken up, and I have no idea whether it's still cold or my room's ac is ignoring the controls, which ac tends to do. Basically, what the fuck should I wear????

I'm in DELHI! Sadly, my driver isn't.

Herr Otto Von Flugelbär and I have made it to the airport, so we're doing better than yesterday, when our flight was cancelled just as we were about to leave the house. After battling with Lufthansa and a German-speaking Miles & More line, I even managed to get our upgrade transferred, too.

My new bra was supposed to be delivered today. Just had an updated delivery estimate of JULY. I need it tomorrow. Looks like I'm getting out the needle and thread tonight, and trying to repair the disintegrated one.

They aren't? Really?
In a not-the-same-but-it-rhymes thing:

It was an ... interesting thing to process ... when I discovered that not everyone is concerned that their friends actually find them annoying and don't particularly like them but are too polite to say so.
My biggest fear after the big ones (death, loss, financial ruin) is that my creative output is actually incomprehensible nonsense and everyone has just been humoring me my whole life.

Still thinking about my dream last night, in which "elevator tags" were a uniquely American menswear accessory. Little pins, traditionally made of enamelled tin but later of Bakelite, that men wore on their lapels to show they'd paid their elevator tax and didn't have to pay an additional fee.

Had to buy a new bra. £52. Fifty-two. That's more pounds than Lex Luthor stole cakes. This is oppression of the big-boobed.

Woohoo! I was waitlisted for the train I particularly wanted on the Shimla toy train. I just checked, and I've got it! Shivalik Deluxe Express, here I come!

The Gen z snow in london today is pretty pathetic. Absolutely not putting in the effort. Just drifting down. No effort to stick or settle.

Not like the snow of my generation. I blame woke.

Well, guess I'm not going to work today. Made it to the first petrol station. It was closed. Got involved in a game of bumper cars trying to get out, with me the only person able to control my car. Made it, unscathed, to the second petrol station. My petrol cap was frozen shut. Gave up; came home.

Currently looking at photos of India and dreaming of being warm. Only ten days until I'm complaining about being too hot!

Wimsey normally shows up in photos as a blurred void, so I'm making the most of him being stationary for thirty seconds.
