I have never seen so much fighting on here as over Thanksgiving food. 😂 It's all over bluesky. Pies, what's appropriate, etc, and apparently I said quite the wrong thing about mash potatoes.

This is completely fine - it's a huge expectation for people to bring homemade food. But having said that, shoofly pie needs to be homemade. Those store bought shoofly pies are like you dug up dirt and covered it with molasses.

We went out to the Ag college near Turialba, Cartago, Costa Rica this morning and got caught in a downpour. My camera got so wet that instead of photos, I got a watercolor of this Boat-billed Heron. #birding

Also call to see if local food banks take pet food to help people feed their pets.
People are left with a horrible choice that is no choice at all. People are going to be abandoning their pets left and right in favor of feeding their family. Consider adopting or temporarily fostering some dogs and cats. This would be a great place to drop a comment with information on this.
