The Trondheim Sun Chariot is dated to the Early Bronze Age, approximately 1400 BC. The spiral decorations on its golden sun disc indicates its Nordic origin. The Sun Chariot represents the sun's eternal journey, drawn by a divine horse. The sun and horse....🧵1/2

Actually, this is a banded agate cameo depicting an unknown Ptolemaic king in a radiate crown against the giant head of Zeus Ammon (looking exactly like Herakles). Delicious! 🏺

Made in Alexandria, Egypt, 2nd c. BCE.

An Attic (Greece) Geometric bowl with a leg-shaped handle, dating around 850 BC.
The Geometric period lasted from ca. 900 to 700 BC. It's named after geometric patterns and motifs used to decorate pottery vessels.
