The JMLR story and operating model should be widely known in academia as a clear success story for full open access. I have friends in the humanities and pure sciences that have no clue this is even possible

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

It is a (dire) fact that the number of publicly-trans academics is… tiny (a fact due to structural factors). How many of those academics would even have applied to these JRFs? I really can’t understand this trans-exclusionary policy as anything other than an ugly political statement.
