Just for clarity, to me, this is a very privileged position, and I hope United can progress in the CL against a challenging opponent.

Wider context? With a World Cup on the horizon, football is asking for trouble again. The EPL especially greedy. Someone will fall ill again before you know it.
Aye, so if Newcastle could overcome Qarabag, here’s the schedule (subject to a day or two). It’ll be fine. I’m sure it’ll be fine.

We’ll all just have to have a lie down somewhere quiet in June. A dark room. Curtains drawn. One of those eye masks that Top Cat used to wear. Probably during the World Cup. One of the boring matches. Couple of hours. We’ll be alreet. Perfectly alreet.

Win that Champions League Qualifier and that’ll be FIVE home games straight in a fortnight for Newcastle United.

Billionaires are money hoarders. No one can spend $1 billion, let alone $100bn, on things they & their families need, or even really want. If they gave away 99% of their loot, this lot would still be absurdly, obscenely rich. Their wealth is socially useless, kept out of circulation for status alone
pretty stunning chart

Charity shop pickups. A tidy haul, I think we can all agree. Again, I must read more, and I must read faster…

“Your guy is late.”
“It’s only been five minutes, chill.”
"Something doesn't feel right."
“Everything’s fine, Dave.”
"You sure this is the spot?"
"Yes."
"And you know this guy is cool?"
"Yes, just relax."
"Don't give him the money until-"
"Until I see the kibble, yes I know."

From the archives; an early #HMHB interview from Smash Hits 1986, source of the quote from Nigel that he's always either watching TV or 'listening to me Fall records.' Thanks to Brian McCloskey on Facebook.

Watching Newcastle’s win at Villa back again, and Woltemade’s performance specifically. The eyeball test at the time had him way further back than prev, and that fuelled the pundits to call him out. However, on reflection, his role was clearly defined.

It…..it…it couldn’t happen again, could it?

Weather back to its sludgy grim normality again today, and a bit nippy too. The Slavonian Grebe at Killie Lake a lot more accommodating today; ‘showing well’, to draw on the appropriate ornithological parlance. Bit of grainy iPhone footage from yours truly, lovely bird.

Point of view by DB Boulevard was a good record, on reflection. Apologies for taking about twenty years to draw this conclusion.

Another great thing about the nicer weather was chance to catch up in garden, although it was these ‘in house’ babies (back inside under lights) that benefited most. Tomatoes (cherry artisan, beef bountiful, cocktail crush) all replanted as they were leggy after I forced them via airing cupboard.

Mind, it was bloody great seeing the actual sun set after 5 today. The slightly longer days have been indistinguishable of late. Anyway, a late run on Craig’s show, few beers on the go and a chicken saag being prepped, like a normal Saturday after a town win. Lovely stuff. Cheers!
