a provision that would restrict courts from holding gov’t officials in contempt for violating court orders—possibly explaining the subterfuge. www.justsecurity.org/113529/terri...

15 years ago, the Supreme Court put a for sale sign on our democracy. Now, we’re facing an era of unprecedented corruption.

I spoke with @thebulwark.bsky.social on how Citizens United got us here and what we can do to fight back:
The Road from ‘Citizens United’ to Trump, Musk, and Corruption
A ‘naïve’ Supreme Court delivered lawless greed and cruelty. We’ll have to save ourselves, if we can.

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell.

This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

Musk is an unelected, unconfirmed private citizen with access to classified information, financial systems, and federal policy decisions—all while running companies that directly profit from government contracts. This is corruption, plain and simple.
“Elon Musk is a walking conflict of interest,” Craig Holman, the government affairs lobbyist at the consumer watchdog Public Citizen, said. “Over and over again, he’s just involved in governmental actions that directly and substantially impact his own financial wellbeing.”

Republicans won the House because they gerrymandered 3 times as many districts as Dems did, but instead the NY Times frames their story around a decline in swing districts fueling "polarization."

The GOP's national advantage should be the lead, not briefly noted halfway through & still downplayed

A New York Times analysis of the nearly 6,000 congressional and state legislative elections in November shows just how few races were true races. Nearly all were dominated by an incumbent or played out in a district drawn to favor one party overwhelmingly.

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.
