What’s happening #SpeirGorm? Give me a highlight from your day - the world is going to shit and we need all the feel-goods we can get right now
Well America, have we reached the tipping point yet? What another horrendous weekend there.

Marimar Martinez was the first US citizen shot by ICE.

They claimed she was a terrorist. Said she was brandishing a weapon.

They lied. Video footage exonerated her and showed the ICE agent shot her five times.

He bragged to other agents “five shots, 7 holes”.

A wide grin was plastered on Marimar Martinez’s face Thursday as she thanked her attorneys outside an Illinois courtroom and told reporters, “I’m just blessed. I’m happy.”

This!! It annoys me so much when people tell me to wear hi vis on a clear day when walking on our country road. It’s not going to make me any safer at all.

“For the first three years, countries can sit on the board for free. But a permanent seat on the board, will cost $1bn “within the first year of the charter’s entry into force”, it states.”

😂😂 what a con, eh??

The US President will chair the organisation, and countries who want to be permanent members will need to pay $1 billion.

Horrifying
SEEING IS BELIEVING

DHS claims the car being chased rammed the ICE vehicle. The video shows the opposite.

📌 A father and son, a US citizen, are chased. The teen is beaten and seriously injured. The father is deported.

DHS lied. The video tells the truth. Excellent reporting by Antonia Hylton.

Very cool and interesting work. Surreal to know that nothing exists today that relates to Prototaxites.
Our paper on the mysterious Devonian organism Prototaxites has now finally been published! See the paper here (www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...) and our explainer thread below!

Great they’re finally leaving but I’m not applauding charities for only leaving now. I made the decision to pull ours off that site well over a year ago as did some others at the time because we cared about our community + we don’t tolerate hate. If more had done the same, X wouldn’t be as it is now
Major charities including the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) have stopped posting on social media platform X due to controversy surrounding its artificial intelligence tool’s image-creating function

A new @ecfr.eu survey has found that the proportion of Europeans who view the US as an ally or an adversary are approaching the same levels as how they feel about China.
Only 16% of Europeans still see the US as an ally, new survey finds
An ECFR survey published today finds a dramatic shift in how Europeans view America. More now see the US as a rival or enemy than as a friend. Conversely, Russians no longer see the US as an enemy.

Machado - you big dope. Know you think you’re playing Trump but giving him the Nobel prize won’t change anything for you. In fact, you’ve made yourself look really stupid without a shred of integrity.

For many years I have been posting little observations online. What you may not know is that for many years, artists have been illustrating them - for no reason other than they wanted to respond. Below is a thread of some of these beautiful drawings because they should be seen 🧵

Feeling teary right now - my parents had to let one of their dogs go. Not sure why I’m upset as I wouldn’t see her much (they live in a different county and I can’t drive to see them as much I’d like to) but I did see her a few days ago and knew then she wasn’t right.
RIP Dolly 🥲
