This is exactly what the recent Trump-BBC 'scandal' was designed to achieve. The BBC is now self-censoring criticisms of Trump in the name of "impartiality"
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

We need a thorough inquiry into Russian interference in our democracy, and accountability for those involved.

We know Russian influence played a role in Brexit, but the Tory government didn't allow a full investigation.

It's time we had one!

Dear Bluesky,
www.thenerve.news is still tiny. We launched it with no dirty money (no money at all, lol!). But we're proving what's possible with a small expert team & no billionaire owners.

We knew the UK press wouldn't understand or properly cover this story, so we did. Thank you for the support!
This is the Observer's coverage of the Reform Russian Spie Scandal... 600 words on page 22 of the printed newspaper.

Transparency International on Nathan Gill's bribery sentencing:

It raises a "broader concern about the currently legal practice of politicians accepting outside funding...and the inherent conflict this creates between their duty to serve the public, and the private interests of their funders." 💯

The great @timothysnyder.bsky.social explains why this new Trump-backed Ukraine plan sells out Ukraine, Europe, and democracies across the world. Take a few minutes and watch.

It is hard to put into words how much damage Trump is doing to our own country, how unfit and malevolent he is.
We have a US administration trying to bully Ukrainians into accepting Russia’s proposal that their sovereignty be undone. Aside from the naked injustice of this, there are five basic practical reasons why it would make the world far more dangerous.

This is how democracies fail. A sitting President is boosting calls for the arrest and execution of political opponents for urging the military to uphold the Constitution. Every alarm in the country should be going off.

VERY funny that Labour are being pointlessly cruel and haemorrhaging support from their base and yet none of what they're offering is ever going to be enough for the people whose approval they're seeking, WHO could have predicted it

"It would mean more people could benefit from those frequent Central Line services. It is exactly what I hoped this Labour government might do.

The British government just did something I agree with, and it feels almost gross to mention it. Also: who invented the week? And some Beeching-themed maps.

“Portraying weakening the European Convention on Human Rights as the answer to the issues society faces is extremely dangerous. It opens the door to us leaving the ECHR altogether - just think about that”
Labour’s plan risks weakening protections for all of us. Human rights are universal - politicians may not always find them politically convenient but it shouldn’t fall to any government to say who those rights should and should not apply to. It’s a slippery slope to oblivion youtu.be/bl0Lm7v_T18?...

There is no evidence that stripping refugees' rights one by one will have any impact on people crossing the channel.

Taking jewellery from refugees is akin to painting over murals for refugee children.

These repugnant ‘deterrents’ did not work for the Tories, and they won't work for us.

Honest reaction & I can’t be the only one.

This is abhorrent signalling to the far right & it makes my skin crawl.

The government won’t achieve ‘decency’ over ‘division’ by trying to be Reform Lite and please remember this - the ECHR is much more than a treaty. It’s a quiet promise - a shield against abuse of power, a lifeline for the vulnerable, a declaration of who we are as a nation
