World Economic Forum Global Risks ranked in two and 10 years into the future.
In 10 years, the risks will likely be equally severe planet-wide but not equitably felt.
Cyber technology may well be a moot point by then.

I sure don't have a good feeling as our colonial government sets up First Nations for "divide and conquer"...again.
Hoping for the best for Coastal Nations and for a sustainable economy that doesn't blow the carbon budget.
Feels like 'Carney Blarny' is ratcheting up.
Coastal First Nations' support for the current oil tanker moratorium off B.C.'s coast was made clear again to PM Carney on his brief visit Tuesday. "We called on him to support it to protect—to grow—our sustainable economy" President K̓áwáziɫ, Marilyn Slett said. www.theenergymix.com/coastal-firs...

In 2013, at South Riverdale Health Centre, he created an 8 foot copper flame memorial for Toronto drug users via contract from a harm reduction group. Part of his earnings used to pay street people to etch their own art & words onto it.
His sculptures, many tiny, some huge - cry for social justice.

Back to a Canadian company - Rochel - selling armoured vehicles to ICE. Imagine the carnage they could cause on the streets now. It is a weapons of war oriented company applauded by all levels of government.
We are not worthy as a country to hold Lester Pearson's Nobel #Peace Prize any longer.
Roshel – Smart Armored Vehicles
Roshel is one of the largest manufacturers of smart armored vehicles for commercial and government organizations in North America.

Wayne Horton writes on substack. To date, I find he is an accurate historian & lucid analyst of Canadian affairs. He turned his abilities to this recent deadly U.S. debacle.
Expanding on needless deaths at Kent State in 1970, he clearly identifies causes in common.

Fondly remembering the years in Canada when this #poem by UK poet Brian Bilston seemed more a light-hearted reflection on difficult winter weather rather than on soul-crushing global chaos.

Tough to keep track of all the largely unfounded reasons for grudges held so tightly by the U.S. president. I knew Gov. Tim Walz - Democrat on the party ticket in 2024 - was likely part of the hate he is pouring over Minneapolis/St. Paul but didn't know the "Somalis are garbage" aspect.
How asinine.

I can't help but wonder about those who take jobs with ICE or similar institutions now.
My father told me he & most he knew enlisted in the armed forces in 1939 first & foremost because they badly needed jobs.
How many of you have obeyed morally questionable orders from the boss to keep your job?

"People are calling this as a moment to Abolish ICE — and to remove these lawless federal agencies. People are swiftly organizing national actions on Saturday connecting the raw violence of kidnapping and killing in Venezuela with the violence of kidnapping and killing residents here."
Honoring the many responses to Renee Nicole Good’s murder
Demanding “calm” after ICE's killing in Minneapolis is misguided. The task isn't to extinguish anger, but to channel it in defense of life.

Have we passed the point of no return by sitting on our hands globally and tolerating and even abetting all this grossly indecent and destructive behaviour? Did we delude ourselves by NOT imagining that hundreds of millions of people would NOT stop this insanity? Certainly feels like it.

"A journalist arrested in Canada for trying to do their job?"
Many others there bearing witness at Wet’suwet’en territory were also arrested & charged in 2021.
Surely the danger of allowing free reign to the RCMP & the like must be understood by now as we watch ICE in the U.S. & actions in Gaza.
