what impressed me most today was that a huge crowd of people who mostly had never been tear gassed managed to retreat without running or trampling each other. under a cloud of gas that was not moving (zero wind), people held onto each other and walked blind down a street packed tight as sardines
Just got gassed pretty good at the labor union anti-ICE protest in Portland. Massive march, 5-10k strong. Vibes were very much liberal rather than radical. Lots of kids and older folks.

After union pressure and organizing another rep and I were able to remove toxic chemicals from our school, made sure they were disposed of by certified professionals. Got to rep a teacher today, helped an 82 y/o woman who fell at publix and help a friend of my student teacher who came out as trans.

Pretty rough getting maced out there. It was about 20 below and washing the mace off is gonna be a serious risk unless you can warm up fast. For reference my goggles froze over, my fleece face warmer froze where i was breathing, my phone shut down and so did my voice recorder

I've talked to people on the ground about the strike here tomorrow, and the single thing everyone brings up is just how shockingly wide the support for the strike is. Businesses that no one would have expected to support it are doing so.
National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.
Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

It took me a looong time but I finally finished reading Three Way Fight! It was great, I learned a lot, it was strange reading about a lot of the major events from Ferguson in 2014 to those before Trump won re-election (it's not limited to that). I have this urge to do something with all of this.

Nurse today not understanding how I'm so sure I'm not pregnant. I tell her well I don't have a uterus. She asked if I had surgery and I'm just like no... I'm trans. She then asks if I'm sure I'm not pregnant and I'm like yeah, but I'll give you a urine sample anyway if you want it.
